Congregations in Chosen People

Hineh Yeshua Congregation
Gowrie, AustraliaHineh Yeshua Congregation gathers in Canberra every Saturday from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. for Shabbat and also meets on the Feast Days. The community describes itself as "a Messianic Community of Jews and Gentiles." Its stated aim is that all people would behold Yeshua as the promised Messiah, for the Jew first and also for the world. Shabbat opens with praise, worship and Davidic dance. Hebraic Biblical teaching follows at 10:45. A mid-week prayer meeting runs Wednesday evenings in members' homes. Shabbat and the Biblical Feasts are kept as prophetic memorials of what Yeshua fulfilled at His first coming and will fulfil when He returns to Israel. The congregation teaches that Jewish believers in Yeshua remain sons and daughters of Israel. Gentile believers, it holds, are grafted into the olive tree as spiritual sons and daughters of Abraham. It affirms that Israel remains a covenant people and that God's covenant with Abraham, including the land, is irrevocable. Salvation, it believes, has always been by grace through faith, and works of law have never saved anyone. Robert Miles, ordained by the IAMCS as a "Messianic Pastor," leads the congregation with his wife Eleanor. He was sent out from Baruch HaShem Messianic Congregation in San Antonio, Texas, and serves on staff with Celebrate Messiah. Eleanor co-leads the community and teaches Hebrew with Celebrate Messiah. The congregation belongs to the Celebrate Messiah network of Messianic congregations, which partners with Chosen People Global Ministries.MessianicChosen PeopleIAMCSMJAA
Kehilat Sar Shalom
St. Louis Park, MNKehilat Sar Shalom, often called KSS or simply Sar Shalom, is a Messianic Jewish community in St. Louis Park, Minnesota. The name means Prince of Peace Community. Its synagogue was built in 1965 as the home of Gemelus Chesed, an Orthodox congregation formerly in North Minneapolis. Sar Shalom is affiliated with the IAMCS and belongs to the Messianic Jewish Alliance of America. The community is dedicated to teaching and living out the Jewish foundations of faith in Messiah Yeshua. It seeks to identify with Jewish heritage by celebrating the Torah, its Shabbats, holy days and instructions. Rabbi Stan Farr teaches that the Sabbath is a gift from God, not a day superseded by the Lord's day. He also teaches that it remains relevant for Jewish and non-Jewish believers in Yeshua. Shabbat service begins Saturday at 10:30 AM. It includes a Torah reading and midrashim on the weekly portion, contemporary songs, Davidic dance and live music. A half-hour sermon follows. Children attend Sabbath school, and an Oneg Shabbat meal comes after the service. The community does not eat biblically unclean foods at its shared table. For security, the exterior doors stay locked on Shabbat, and team members let guests in. Through the year the congregation gathers for Purim, a Passover Seder, Shavuot, Rosh Hashanah, Kol Nidre, Yom Kippur and Sukkot.Chosen PeopleIAMCSMJAA
Shuvah Yisrael
Irvine, CAShuvah Yisrael is a Messianic Jewish congregation in Irvine, California, gathering every Saturday morning at 10:00. Its name means "Return, O Israel," taken from Hosea 14:1. That call to turn back to God shapes the congregation's focus, which seeks to bring the Jewish people back into relationship with Him. Services are also streamed online. The community sees itself as a Messianic Jewish family. Its members commit to one another's growth while sharing the message of Yeshua with the Jewish people. It holds that Yeshua of Nazareth is the promised Messiah of Israel, fully God and fully human. Forgiveness of sin comes through faith in Him, not through human effort or merit. Jewish and Gentile believers are united as equal members of one body of Messiah. The congregation affirms that God's promises to the Jewish people in the covenants of the Tenach remain in effect. It also believes that Israel as a nation will one day recognize Yeshua as Messiah. Children attend Shabbat School, which teaches from the Tenakh and B'rit Chadasha through Bible study, biblical holidays and age-appropriate activities. Lessons trace the gospel from creation through the Patriarchs, the feasts and the prophets to Yeshua. The congregation also has chavurahs. A worship team of musicians and vocalists leads praise together with a cantor.Chosen PeopleIAMCSMJAA
