About

El Shaddai Congregation gathers in downtown Frederick, Maryland, for Shabbat service on Saturdays from 10:15 to 12:30. It describes itself as a "Yeshua-Centered, Spirit-Filled, Messianic Jewish-Rooted Community." Jews and Gentiles worship the God of Israel together here and follow Yeshua the Messiah. The community celebrates the biblical feasts and seeks the guidance of the Ruach HaKodesh. Services are also streamed live for those who cannot attend in person.

The congregation holds that the Tanakh and Brit Chadashah are the infallible Word of God. It affirms one God in three persons and the deity of Yeshua, along with his atoning death, resurrection and return. The good news, they teach, is for everyone, "for the Jew first and also for the Greek." In their view, Jewish people who recognize Yeshua as Messiah retain their complete Jewish identity. Biblical Jewish life and practice is understood as a covenantal responsibility for Jewish believers. That practice is also seen as relevant to a New Covenant community of Jews and Gentiles.

Five pillars shape the community: discipleship, Jewish calling, covenant relationships, the Word of God and power of the Spirit, and prophetic intercession. Worship and intercession are named as the primary goal of its gatherings. Jason Trevett serves as Lead Community Pastor and Elder. Andrew Gudgeon serves as Lead Vision Pastor and Elder. Pastoral care, home groups and a children's ministry are part of congregational life.
