Shoresh Tours (CMJ Israel)

Shoresh Tours is the study tour ministry of CMJ Israel. It has brought Christians from around the world on biblical study tours of Israel for 40 years. Shoresh is Hebrew for "root," and the tours focus on the Jewish roots of the Christian faith and Jesus in his first-century Jewish context.

Guides and office staff describe themselves as Christian or Messianic followers of Jesus. Shoresh says it was the first operator to use Messianic guides. Sample itineraries include a life of Jesus tour, an Old and New Testament survey, and a young adults tour. Its Faith in Action tours offer a week of service, such as farm work and serving meals to the elderly. As a ministry, Shoresh donates most of its profits to local ministries.
