Yeshua Ha’Mashiach

Messianic Jewish congregation · Mesa, AZ

About

Yeshua haMashiach Messianic Congregation gathers in Mesa, Arizona, on Saturday and Sunday at 11 a.m. Saturday services are for Messianic Jews, and Sunday brings regular services for Christians. The congregation has recently moved and is remodeling its building.

Rabbi William Hepfner, Th.D., leads the community. He was born Jewish and adopted as an infant, and he came to faith in 1980. After 12 years in Christian ministry, he understood a call to teach the "Jewish Roots of Christianity to both Jew and Gentile." Regina (Gina) Hepfner serves alongside him as Associate Pastor.

The congregation proclaims the good news of Yeshua the Messiah "to the Jew first and also the Gentile." It teaches that Messiah's death broke down the middle wall of partition between Jews and Gentiles who trust in him. It also affirms that Messiah came not to destroy the Torah but to fulfill it. Shabbat and the biblical feasts are kept, and both the Tenach and the Brit Chadasha are studied. Members identify with the Jewish people through the seasons of Jewish life, mikvah, bar mitzvah, Hebrew study and support for Israel. Children are raised with a Jewish identity.

Davidic dancers and a drama team take part in worship, and the drama team performs at many of the feasts. A prayer wall holds stone reclaimed from a synagogue in Tiberias. The congregation also planted Beth Hayim Mayim in San Tan Valley.
