Beth Messiah Messianic Synagogue
Houston, TX
Congregation Beth Messiah is a Messianic synagogue in Houston that gathers every Saturday morning. The Shabbat worship service begins at 10:00, and Shabbat School follows at 10:55. Services are also streamed online for those who cannot attend in person. Rabbi John Ross and Rebbetzin Becky Ross lead the community. The congregation exists so that Jewish people come to faith in Messiah Yeshua, with transformed lives "within Jewish culture and context." It holds that Yeshua is the Messiah, the Divine Son who became a true Israelite. Salvation, it teaches, is a gift received by faith in His atoning death and resurrection. Beth Messiah affirms that the calling of Israel is irrevocable and that all of God's promises to Israel remain valid. The community understands the Messianic Jewish Synagogue and the Gentile Christian Church as two equal but not identical parts of one Body. Gentiles are described as spiritual sons and daughters of Abraham, grafted into a Jewish olive tree. Torah is taught as God's eternal Word, which sets the Jewish people apart. Jewish members are encouraged to embrace their heritage and resist assimilation. For Gentile believers, the guidance on Mosaic Law is "permitted but not required." Shabbat and the feasts of Leviticus 23, from Pesach through Sukkot, are part of the congregation's yearly life.

Beth Yeshua HaMashiach
Houston, TX
Beth Yeshua HaMashiach calls itself "A Grace Oriented Messianic Congregation." Worship is held every Saturday at 10:30 AM. The Shabbat service brings together liturgical worship, musical praise and messages from Scripture. Israeli dance practice meets at 9:30 a.m. to prepare dances for the service. A complimentary oneg lunch follows each Shabbat service. At the center of the congregation's faith is salvation by the grace of G-d through faith in Yeshua. It holds that salvation cannot be earned by doing enough mitzvot. Only the blood of Messiah Yeshua atones for sin, the community teaches. It affirms that Messiah is divinely YHVH and that G-d is Echad: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Jewish and non-Jewish believers, it believes, become one through Yeshua. The gospel goes to the Jewish community first and also to the Nations. The congregation holds that Jewish people who trust in Yeshua continue to be Jewish. It also teaches that the land promised to Israel belongs forever to the nation of Israel. All the gifts of the Spirit, it affirms, remain in effect today. Shabbat Bible classes meet at 1:30 pm after the oneg, with a focus on the Hebraic perspective of the Scriptures. Children ages 5 to 12 attend Shabbat School after worship and learn about the Holy Days.
