Beit Shiloach is a Messianic Jewish congregation in Bussum, in the Netherlands. It gathers every Shabbat at 11:00, with services in Dutch and English. The name means the family of Shiloach. Shiloach comes from the Hebrew shalach, to send, and the congregation understands it as pointing to Yeshua, the one sent by God. The name draws on John 9, where a blind man washes in the Pool of Shiloach and comes back seeing.
Shabbat services follow Jewish traditions, including the Barachoe, the Shema and other prayers from the Siddur. There is Messianic Jewish praise and worship. Once a month the congregation holds a Messianic Torah service. Its members describe themselves as a Mishpacha, a family of brothers and sisters who want to follow Yeshua. First-time visitors are asked to make contact before attending.
Messianic Judaism, in the congregation's view, is a restoration movement, and its vision is Tikkun, restoration. It holds that the good news is "to the Jew first and also to the Greek." Its first aim is to make that message known to Jewish people. It also stresses being talmidim of Rabbi Yeshua and His Torah teaching, and the restoration of lives through the Ruach haKodesh. Beit Shiloach is a member of the IAMCS, which ordained its leader. Members pray together online on Sunday and Monday evenings, with Monday held in Dutch only.
