Messianic Jewish congregation · Orefield, PA
Beit Simcha, whose name means House of Joy, is a Messianic Jewish congregation in Wescosville, in the Lehigh Valley west of Allentown. It gathers every Shabbat at 10:30 in the morning. Rabbi Glenn Blank leads the community.
Since Abraham at the door of his tent, the congregation says, its people have welcomed the stranger. It reaches out to Jews who wonder how to believe Yeshua is the Messiah and remain faithful to their Jewish heritage. Gentiles who want to reconnect to the Jewish roots of faith in Messiah Yeshua are welcomed too.
The Shabbat service opens with a greeting and a Tallit prayer. Praise and worship follow, along with the Shema and Amidah, then a time of prayer and prophecy. Most weeks Rabbi Glenn gives a message. In the third week of the month, a full Torah service carries the scroll through the congregation. Members then read from the Torah, the Haftorah and the B'rit Hadasha. Children go to Shabbat School, and the service closes with the Aaronic Benediction and the song "Shabbat Shalom." On the first Shabbat afternoon of each month, a havurah meets for fellowship and Torah study. Rabbi Blank also leads an online Bible study and a community Passover Seder with emphasis on Yeshua and His Last Supper. Beit Simcha is affiliated with the Tikkun America network and the International Alliance of Messianic Synagogues & Congregations.
