Messianic Jewish congregation · Bethlehem, PA
Beth El Gibor is a Messianic Jewish congregation in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, where Jews and Gentiles praise, worship and study together. Shabbat morning services begin at 10:30 and run about two and a half hours. Each service centers on the Torah readings, with a full Torah Service followed by a message from the rabbi. Traditional Hebrew liturgy, repeated in English, sits beside traditional and contemporary music. The shofar is blown. An oneg follows every service.
Yeshua, in the congregation's teaching, is the Messiah of Israel and the Nations, fully human and fully God. Jews and Gentiles alike are grafted into the olive tree through faith, and each remains as called. Shabbat is embraced, and the moedim are celebrated at their appointed times. The whole of Scripture, from Genesis to Revelation, is received as Torah. Beth El Gibor calls itself "a house of prayer to the Jew first and equally to the Gentile." It affirms the physical and spiritual restoration of Israel and holds a dispensational, literal reading of the text.
Rabbi Mark Shulman leads the community with Rebbetzin Ranjiena Shulman, who serves equally alongside him. Rabbi Eduardo Arroyo and Rebbetzin Amy Arroyo also serve. Children leave after the Torah Service for Shabbat School in three age groups. Bible study meets Thursdays at 7 p.m., and Biblical Hebrew classes are offered. Beth El Gibor is a member of the International Alliance of Messianic Congregations and Synagogues.
