Congregation Beth Hallel is a Messianic Jewish synagogue in Roswell, Georgia. Erev Shabbat services are held Friday at 8:00 pm, and Shabbat services Saturday at 11:00 am. Its roots go back to 1977, when Jewish Believers and Friends, Inc. began meeting in borrowed facilities and private homes. Beth Hallel was established in 1981 as the first independent Messianic Jewish synagogue in the Southeast. Its synagogue building was completed in 1985.
Many members are Jewish and believe Yeshua is the promised Jewish Messiah. They trust Him fully while continuing to live as Jews. Non-Jewish believers belong to the community too, recognizing that the Jewish Messiah came for all people. Services combine traditional Jewish liturgy with contemporary Jewish music, clapping and lifted hands. Each message draws on both the Tenach and the Brit Chadasha.
Senior Rabbi Kevin Solomon, a second-generation Messianic Jewish rabbi ordained through the IAMCS, leads the congregation with his wife, Tiffany. He began his transition into the role in 2005. Tuesday nights bring adult scripture study and children's classes, except on the last Tuesday of the month. Children's programs run during Shabbat services. A B'nei Mitzvah program teaches Hebrew and reading Torah portions directly from the scroll. Members also gather in home chavurot, and there are groups for teens, college students, young adults, singles, women and men. Beth Hallel is affiliated with the IAMCS and the MJAA.
