Beth Yeshua HaMashiach Congregation

Messianic Jewish congregation · Fort Worth, TX

About

Beth Yeshua HaMashiach Congregation gathers in Fort Worth, Texas, for a Shabbat worship service every Saturday at 11 AM. In Hebrew, Beth Yeshua means "House of Jesus." Messianic Jewish Rabbi Stan Eisenberg founded the congregation in 1983 with a small group of Jewish followers of Yeshua. Today it calls itself a diverse congregation of Jewish and non-Jewish people. Phillip Ross serves as congregational leader. The community is affiliated with the MJAA and the IAMCS.

Shabbat worship opens with praise in song and dance. Hebrew liturgy follows from a messianic siddur with English translation and transliteration, and Spanish prayer books are also available. The shofar sounds, the Torah service follows a standard order, and a Shabbat message is given. Services close with Kiddush and the Lord's Supper. As a messianic Jewish congregation, Beth Yeshua observes the Biblical kosher dietary laws.

The congregation holds that Yeshua is the promised Messiah of Israel and is God. It teaches that his message is best understood in its original, first-century Jewish context. Scripture, both Tanach and Brit Chadashah, is its final authority. Prayer for Israel comes first, then for America, following Romans 1:16. The community seeks to teach and observe the appointed feasts, customs and traditions. Children ages 3 to 12 attend a Shabbat school during worship. Teenagers meet for a youth group on Wednesday evenings. On the second Shabbat of each month, an oneg meal follows the service.
