Beth Yeshua Messianic Synagogue gathers in Fort Myers, Florida, and calls itself "a place for Jewish faith in Messiah Yeshua." Its Shabbat service begins at 11:00 am and is streamed live. Everyone, whether Jewish or Christian, is welcome at any service, and seating is always free and unassigned. The congregation also offers fellowship and worship for inter-faith families.
As Messianic Jews, its members believe Yeshua is the promised Messiah and the Savior for Israel and the world. They hold that Messianic Jews have not stopped being Jewish but remain strongly Jewish in identity and lifestyle. The community understands its faith as Biblical Judaism, relying totally on the Scriptures and centered on the Messiah. It sets this apart from Rabbinic Judaism, which rests on the Talmud and commentaries written after the Temple's destruction. Beth Yeshua teaches that G-d's covenant with Israel, going back to Abraham, is eternal. Jewish believers are urged to keep living as Jews rather than assimilate away from the Jewish people.
Standing with them are many non-Jewish members, whom the congregation describes as having a "Ruth-like" calling to G-d's chosen people. The year follows the High Holy Days and Fall Feasts. Recent gatherings marked Yom Teruah, Shabbat Shuva, Kol Nidrei, a full day of Yom Kippur services, Sukkot and Simcha Torah.
