Beth Zion Messianic Jewish Synagogue gathers in Jackson, New Jersey, for Shabbat service every Saturday at 11:00 AM. It offers a synagogue service where Jewish people can grow and learn about the Messiah in a culturally familiar setting. All people are welcome at Beth Zion.
The community celebrates Messiah and "the true Judaism He represented." Yeshua lived a Jewish life, observing Shabbat and the Jewish holidays, and the congregation follows that example. Believing in Yeshua, in their words, does not mean trading lox and bagels for ham and cheese.
Rabbi Jan Rosenberg and Rebbitzen Marlene Rosenberg came to Beth Zion on January 6, 1993. Before that, both spent 16 years singing with the Messianic group Kol Simcha. Raised in a Conservative Jewish home in northern New Jersey, Rabbi Jan came to faith in Yeshua in 1971. He received smikhah as a Messianic Rabbi through the International Alliance of Messianic Congregations & Synagogues toward the end of the 1990s. He wrote the Passover Trilogy Messianic Haggadah, in English and Spanish. Marlene serves as the congregation's coordinator and as one of its worship leaders. She also helps lead a Thursday night Connections Class. Recent Shabbat messages are broadcast for those watching from home.
