Messianic Jewish congregation · Tucson, AZ
Congregation Beth Sar Shalom is a Messianic synagogue in Tucson, Arizona, led by Rabbi Josh Taiz. Shabbat services meet Saturday mornings at 10:30, in person and online. On Tuesdays, women gather for prayer at 10:00 and men at 10:30.
The congregation frames its convictions after the traditional Jewish articles of faith, each one affirmed "with perfect faith." It holds that God exists eternally as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Yeshua is the Messiah, God in human flesh, who died for sins and rose bodily on the third day. Salvation comes only through faith in him. Believers are immersed, and the Lord's Supper is kept with matzo and the fruit of the vine. Beth Sar Shalom rejects Dual Covenant theology, Replacement theology and Two-House or Ephraimite teaching. It also teaches that Israel will be the focus of a coming great trial, and that Yeshua will reign with Jerusalem as his capital.
Its stated vision is to grow the Messianic Jewish community in Tucson. Torah is taught to adults and children in the light of Yeshua and the new covenant scripture. Worship includes liturgy, music and dance in an intergenerational setting. The good news is proclaimed "to the Jew first and also to the Gentile." The congregation also engages the church concerning Israel and the Jewish people through outreaches, events and speaking engagements.
