Congregation Beth Yeshua

Messianic Jewish congregation · Media, PA

About

Congregation Beth Yeshua is a Messianic congregation in Media, Pennsylvania. Shabbat service meets Saturday mornings at 10:30, both in person and by livestream. On the first Friday of each month, the community also gathers in person at 7:30 in the evening. Sermons are given by Rabbi David Chernoff.

The congregation believes Yeshua is the promised Jewish Messiah, whose death provides a permanent kaparah, or atonement, for sin. It understands faith in Yeshua as Jewish from the start. The apostles and the writers of the New Covenant were Jews, and early Messianic synagogues spread across the Roman Empire. Over the centuries, it teaches, the Jewish roots of the faith were lost. Beth Yeshua describes its aim as putting the Messiah "back within His biblical and Jewish context."

Music and dance are part of every service. Worship teams rotate each week, offering traditional and original songs with a focus on Messianic praise. Orderly dance accompanies the music. Congregants can learn through Israeli dance workshops, and dance performances mark holidays and special occasions. Every service and the Saturday Shabbat school class includes a Biblically focused message.
