About

Zambia Messianic Fellowship gathers in Lusaka every Saturday for Shabbat worship. Its founding branch, Beth Messiah, meets in Chalala. The fellowship describes itself as the oldest Messianic congregation in Zambia, with branches in Ndola, Luwingu, Chongwe and Rufunsa. Senior Rabbi Alex Yalenga and Rebbetzin Fay Yalenga lead the fellowship.

Jewish and non-Jewish followers of Yeshua worship together here, in what the community calls "a distinctly Messianic Jewish space." It describes itself as Yeshua-centred and Torah-observant. Teaching draws from both the Old and New Covenant Scriptures. The fellowship understands its calling as sharing the Good News of Messiah Yeshua "to the Jew first and also to the nations."

Shabbat services join Jewish liturgy with contemporary praise. Gatherings also include intercession, a Torah class, Shabbat School for children and Hebrew lessons. Fellowship continues around a shared meal. Beyond worship, the fellowship runs the Jerome Fleischer School and the Jerome Fleischer Home for vulnerable children. Shalom Zambia Radio carries weekly Biblical teaching on national radio. Newer fellowships and home groups also receive support, including Messianic communities among the Lemba Jewish people.
